WELCOME ABOARD CALYPSO CAT FOR THE TAMPA BAY AREA'S BEST DOLPHIN WATCHING SNORKELING ADVENTURE
We are a family-oriented tour boat business catering to people who love Florida’s West Coast sunsets and nature. We operate our BRAND NEW 45’ CATAMARAN from the Magnuson Marina Cove Resort located in St. Petersburg FL. We provide daily snorkeling trips to Egmont Key Island. Our trip includes Dolphin Watching, Snorkeling over the ruins of Fort Dade, and plenty of time to explore Egmont Key.
We start by Dolphin Watching all the way out to Egmont Key. It is such a wonderful experience to view wild dolphins playing in their natural habitat! Our first stop will be over the sunken ruins of Old Fort Dade, where we will jump in for some snorkeling. You are sure to see lots of native marine life. We have even seen an Octopus living in the crevices at the ruins. Once we have everyone back on board, we will beach the boat on the opposite side of the island, right in front of the lighthouse. Here you will have an hour to explore the island. You can hike through the Spanish-American War forts, go shelling, look for megladon shark's teeth, or snorkel some more. You can snorkel for up to 2 hours on the trip!
Our goal is to provide a fun, affordable and memorable vacation experience that the whole family can enjoy. This trip is great for all ages. It is a fabulous adventure and an experience you do not want to miss! We are minutes away from the Tampa Bay Area. Including, St. Petersburg, Treasure Island, Clearwater Beach, Madeira Beach, John's Pass, Tampa, St. Pete Beach, Bradenton, Sarasota, Anna Maria Island, and Orlando. On Egmont Key the lighthouse, the old soldier cemetery, and the submerged ruins of old Fort Dade give a sense of being in a different era.
Snorkeling at Egmont Key
The sunken ruins have molded themselves into an artificial habitat for a variety of fish. Once you dip your toes into the emerald green Gulf water, you will be amazed by the number and beauty of the tropical fish swimming along side of you. Star fish, seahorses, sand dollars, tarpon, trout, grouper, & sheepshead are just a sampling of the marine life you may see.
All your snorkeling equipment is included on the trip. We will supply you with a mask, snorkel, & fins.
Just a few of the sights you may experience are pods of wild Bottlenose Dolphins playing in their natural environment, a huge Manatee gracefully swimming past the boat, stingrays, rolling tarpon, numerous native birds, and gopher tortoises.
