Find Shark Teeth From Millions Of Years Ago!
Megalodon Shark Teeth
We do find shark teeth from the extinct Megalodon on Egmont Key! Megalodon Shark teeth are fossilized from millions of years ago! Sharks loose lots of teeth and they are continually growing new ones. They have 4 rows of teeth and loose several hundred per day. Some sharks can loose up to 35,000 teeth in a lifetime!
The shark’s teeth come in lots of color shades and sizes. The darker the tooth is; the older it is. The white teeth are more recent. We find the teeth of many different species of shark on our adventures. How many will you find?

Does anyone else collect these lucky sea beans? They can float on the ocean currents for years. If you’re lucky enough to find one, you can shake it next to your ear and hear the dried seed rattle inside. Natures beautiful little lucky charm! We found this one this morning on our Shell Key tour.

I’ve found lots of beautiful lightening whelks, but this is the first one like this! We found it on our tour to Egmont Key while snorkeling. After doing a bit of research, I did discover that this is a subspecies of the knobbed whelk called the Kiener’s whelk. The Kiener’s whelk is known for its swelling in the lower body whorl and its extra large recurved spines. It was a beautiful exciting find but the shell already had an owner and was promptly return to the ocean. Captain Betty
